What is CrossMention?

An exchange where vetted B2B companies mention each other in their own content. Placing a mention earns credits; receiving one costs credits. Rates come from one public table based on domain rating.

How much does it cost?

Membership is free for the first 100 founding members while the network is seeded. A card is required and never charged. There is no per-link price.

Will Google penalize me for this?

A placement counts only when the link sits inside real content on a real page, confirmed by a fetch. Footer links earn nothing, nobody is paid cash per link, and exchanges run three way or wider rather than direct swaps.

Is this a link scheme?

There is no cash payout per link, so sites built to sell links have nothing to earn. Every mention is written by the member into its own content, and the price is a public table.

Who can join?

B2B companies with a real site. Blogs, affiliate sites and consumer brands are not accepted.

Do I have to accept every mention request?

No. You can decline any request for any reason, and the requester is refunded in full automatically.

Do I link back to the site that mentions me?

No. You earn credits by mentioning whoever you like, so exchanges run three way or wider.

What does verification check?

CrossMention requests the pasted URL and reads the page. The link to your domain must be inside real content. If it is found, credits move; if not, nothing moves and the member is told why.

Where does the domain rating come from?

Ahrefs Domain Rating, 0 to 100, read from Ahrefs' public API and refreshed monthly. When Ahrefs has no answer, an estimate is shown and labelled as one.

How many credits does a mention earn?

DR 0-19: 1, DR 20-39: 2, DR 40-59: 4, DR 60-79: 8, DR 80-100: 15. You earn your own tier for placing and pay the other site's tier for receiving.

Can I buy or cash out credits?

No. Credits cannot be bought, sold or cashed out.
