The same number does both jobs. A mention you place earns your tier. A mention you receive costs the other site's tier. That is the entire formula, and it applies to a DR 20 member and a DR 80 member in exactly the same way. There are no private rates.
In plain numbers: a DR 30 site earns 2 credits for each verified mention it places, and a mention from a DR 50 member costs 4 credits. So two pieces of your own writing buy you a placement that the open market sells for $300 to $500. Credits are not money: they cannot be bought, sold or cashed out, and nothing here is billed at all.
Google's rules are about what a link is, not where it came from. So our rules are strict. A placement counts only when the link sits inside real content on a real page, and we fetch the page to confirm it before any credit moves. We request the URL that was pasted in and read the page. The link to your domain has to be there, inside real content: found, and the credits move and the placement is recorded with its URL. Not found, and nothing moves and the member is told why. Footer and boilerplate placements do not count. After that we load the page again every 2 days for 90 days, and if the link is gone your credits come back automatically.
